About Fernshot Gundogs and Phil Parkins
Phil Parkins became involved in Field Sports over forty years ago. His interest in field trials began after meeting Ian Openshaw in 1990 and he became a professional dog trainer in the late 1990's with Fernshot Gundogs.
To date, Phil Parkins has made up 3 Fernshot field trial champions: FTCh Millbuies Milly, FTCh Fernshot Comet and most recently, FTCh Twixwood Shooting Star of Fernshot (pictured left). All of his champions are out of his bitch line, Millbuies Milly and all have qualified to run at the annual IGL championship events.
Phil Parkins and Millbuies Milly also represented the England Team at the CLA Game Fair in 2001 coming third overall.
Phil Parkins has been a Kennel Club 'A' Panel Judge since 2003. He has judged many trials in England (including the IGL Championship at Windsor in 2007), Ireland, Scotland and Wales and has also judged in Austria, Denmark (the 2006 Danish Championship), France (the 2010 French Championship), Hungary, Italy and Germany.
